Vormsi Orthodox church parish was the only one in Estonia of the kind. That was the only Orthodox Swedish church parish. The foundation of the community was very hopeful for future, but because of unfavourable circumstances in the end of 20 century it has lost the life strength and the most part of islanders came to Lutheran church.

Hullo külas bussiparkla kõrval asub üks tore ja armas Burksi sahver, kust saab maitsvaid burgereid.

Mailormsi – see on suur ja roosa nõukaaegne kolhoosi kontorihoone, mis oma algupärase otstarbe täitmiseni kunagi ei jõudnudki. Siin oli paar aastakümmet Talleksi puhkekeskus, siin elas varasemalt perekond, kes alustas majale uue hingamise andmist ning nüüdseks on see „ühepereelamu“ ja maakodu. Suveperioodil peatub siin palju häid inimesi.

Elle-Malle Külalistemaja on Vormsil tegutsenud aastast 1994 ja on vanim aastaringselt tegutsev majutusasutus saarel.

Rändrahn Norrby külas. Kivi pikkus on 7,8 m, laius 7,3 m, kõrgus 5,6 m, ümbermõõt 25-30 m. Kivi on rabakivigraniidist ja asub Kerkgrunne saare põhjaservas rannavees ning on hõlpsasti leitav. Kivi jääb Väinamere hoiualale. Iseloomulik tunnus on rahnu idaosas 1851. aasta veeseisu märkiv kriips.

Magnushofi külalistemaja asub vana Magnushofi mõisa pargi põlispuude all, ümbruses mõisa kompleksi varemed. Lähedal asub Prästvike jäev koos allikatega, Huitbergi mägi ja muidu ilus Vormsi puutumata loodus.

Erineva tiheduse ja vanusega kadastikega Rumpo poolsaar on ainulaadsete ja haruldaste samblikukoosluste kasvuala ning siin asub hariliku tundrasambliku ainuleiukoht Eestis. Samblikualad on tallamisõrnad! Poolsaarel karjatatakse veiseid, lambaid ja hobuseid.

Kersleti küla lähedal metsas asuva Hundikivi ümbermõõt on 18,7 m ja kõrgus 2,5 m. Nelinurkse pôhiplaaniga, tasase laega lapik rahn on kohati kaetud samblikega. Kivi läbib suur horisontaalne lôhe.

On of the most attractive places in Vormsi is the slate knoll of Huitberg that locates in spruce wood in the middle of the island. Over 400 million years old coral reef, polished sleek by the ice, has been formed out of the lime shells of little animals that lived in the tropical low sea of Ordovician. On the calcaerous outcrop free from moss you can see fossils. Ferns, that are under protection, grow in the limestone grooves.

Smen ehk sepakivi on suurim saare siseosa rändrahnudest. Kivi asub Borrby küla Knutersi talu endisel heinamaal ja on 22,6 m ümbermõõduga ja 4,2 m kõrgune. Järskude külgedega alasit meenutav tahukakujuline rabakivigraniidist rahn. Lagi on kaldtasane, mis laskub edelasse. Kivil kasvab rohkesti samblikke. Rahnu kirdeosa on jäänud peaaegu maapinnale, kaguosa istub arvatavasti kuni 1,5 m sügavuselt maa sees. Rahvajutu järgi olevat rahnu otsas päästnud end mõned talupojad tatarlaste rüüsteretkede ajal 1575 keeva veega ja kivide loopimisega

More than 300 wheel crosses poke above the ground in this small cemetery on an Estonian island, some just barely visible above the tufts of grass. The distinct ringed crosses look out of place amid the newer, more traditional designs found atop nearby plots.

The main purpose of Sviby Port is hosting a scheduled ferry, but it is also the island’s commercial port. Small boats and yachts can also stop here.

For that you need to go to Rohuküla harbour and use the signs to find the pier of the ferry of Vormsi The pier and the ticket office locate left of the harbour building (little stall next to the fenced parking lot). The tickets to the ferry to Vormsi can be bought only from the Vormsi ticket office – there is no ticket sale to Vormsi in the harbour building!

A representative assembly of springs, related water bodies, forest and bog habitats lay north of Lake Prästvike. Allika hiking trail was reconstructed for nature lovers to get acquainted with this part of the unconventional nature of Vormsi.

In the bicycle rental of the Sviby harbour on the island of Vormsi there are 50 bikes. These bikes have 3 and they are ideal for riding on the tracks and landscapes of Vormsi.

Vormsi Clay Room offers different ceramic courses for everyone who is interested. If you do not wish to put your own hands into clay, you can find ready-made pottery to buy.

Metsavahi-Hermase on 1931. aasta talukoht kaunil Vormsi saarel Suuremõisa külas.

Kirikuaia lõunaosas asub 1936. aastal missionär Lars Johan Österblomile pühendatud mälestussammas. Österblom saabus Vormsile 1873. aastal. 13 aasta jooksul, jättis ta rahva harimisse, kasvatusse ning ellu märgatavad jäljed. Ta asutas kolm kooli ja mitmeid palvemaju. 1887. aastal oli Österblom sunnitud saarelt lahkuma.

Village hall of Vormsi was built in 1938 and it has a special place of maintaining the cultural life of the island. All year around there are insular events, concerts and theatre plays in the village hall. It is also a gathering and practice place for different amateur groups of Vormsi. Table tennis is actively practiced. The rooms of the village hall are rented to celebrate major events and to organize cultural events, parties and courses.

The island of Vormsi is one of the starting points of Estonian free churches. Lars Johan Österblom, the missionary of Swedish Evangelical Alliance, came to Vormsi in 1873. The life of Vormsi was described as followinged: “People lived in shacks. The houses had no chimneys. Local life was characterized by drinking and fights about vodka.”

Saxby lighthouse aka Vormsi lighthouse was built in 1864. It was the first cast iron lighthouse of Gordon system in Estonia. Near Saxby lighthouse, in the forest there are partially remained Sea Fort fortifications of Peter the Great and they were built at the beginning of the 20th century. We recommend to visit Saxby lighthouse in daylight but also during the sunset. It is told that the sun is said to set there notably beautifully.

Magnushofi glämping asub vana Magnushofi mõisa pargi põlispuude all, ümbruses mõisa kompleksi varemed. Lähedal asub Prästvike jäev koos allikatega, Huitbergi mägi ja muidu ilus Vormsi puutumata loodus.

Vaatetorni majad asuvad Vormsi läänerannikul looduskaitse all oleval paesel kaldal ning annavad oma külastajale unikaalse võimaluse nautida loodust väga vahetul, kuid samas mugaval viisil.

In Suuremõisa village there the ruins of smock mill. The frustum type brickwork has been maintained. Later it has been supported inside with circled brickwork. It was probably built at the end of 18th century – beginning of the 19th century.

Environmentally friendly small island In Vormsi the waste handling is systematised by type. For that there are special waste houses in the village where there are different containers for unsorted household waste, recyclable waste and dangerous waste. Used batteries can be put into special containers in the waste house.

Norrby ülemine tuletorn on enne II maailmasõda ehitatud tornidest suurim, selle läbimõõt 3 ja ehituskõrgus 34 meetrit.

Accommodation in two cabins with a kitchen. There are 4 beds in each with the possibility of an extra bed. There are two other rooms on the sauna house and on top of the storage house. Diby Camping accommodates up to 19 people.

Alumise tuletorni kõrgus on 22 meetrit ja läbimõõt 2 meetrit.

Vormsi viimase paruni Otto Friedrick Fromhold von Stackelbergi mälestuskivi ehk Parunikivi asub Hullo külas pisut metsa sees. Kivi ümbermõõt on 20,6 m ja kõrgus 2,4 m ning maht 40 m3 (H. Viiding, 1986). Seltsimaja juurest suurelt teelt osutab sellele ka vastav viit. Rahvajuttude kohaselt olevat Vormsi viimane parun armastanud selle kivi juurde jalutuskäike teha. Kivile on raiutud tekst: „Isale armastavatelt poegadelt“.

St Olav’s Church of Vormsi is the main monument of the island’s history and culture. After the Swedes fled from the island at the end of World War II, the church, which locates in Hullo, stayed empty for a long time. The church was reauspicated on the St Olav’s Day in 1990.

In the centre of Vormsi there is a massage room, which helps to lessen emotional and physical tensions. The massage room, which locates on 1st floor of the village centre of Vormsi, is run by Tiit Adams, who has worked as a masseuse for five years and is new in Vormsi.

Open from 6. June to 31. August or according to prior agreement. Please book your visits in sufficient time in May and September. Ticket price for adults is 2.50 €, school students pay 1 €. The opening times from June to August are Wed-Sun from 11.00-17.00. During low season the museum is open according to prior agreement.

Borrby (esmamainitud 1526 – Borchbuet, Borehbue, Borbw, Boorby). Küla asutasid Soome immigrandid, kes erinevatel andmetel võisid pärineda Borgåst, Borgbyst Helsingis, Bergö linnast Soomes või Sibbost Uusimaal. Küla ise asub künkal, mida nimetatakse kabelikünkaks (Kabolbackan).

Fällerna (Fellen, Fäll- Engen, Pellen, Pellana) on ainus metsaküla Vormsil (ei paikne mere lähedal). Nimi tuleb rootsikeelsest sõnast fälla, fälle – raiesmik, mis tähendas arvatavalt lihtsalt raiesmaaküla. Naaberkülades kutsuti paika selle ilusa, metsaga ümbritsetud asukoha tõttu ka Munakollaseks – Äggulan.

Hosby Hosby (nimekuju ka Hosbi) külas oli kunagi 19 talu ja 85 elanikku. Ühendustee ringteelt Hosby külla kulgeb läbi Söderby küla ning pöördub enne Pikneri talu hooneid. Hosby on saare üks nooremaid külasid, asutatud pärast seda, kui Vene kroonu ostis Stackelbergide mõisad.

One of the most captivating places on the Vormsi Island is the Huitberg limestone outcrop in the middle of a spruce forest, in the centre of the island. This more than 400 million years old coral reef smoothed by glacial abrasion has formed from calcareous exoskeletons of animals living in the shallow tropical seas during the Ordovician. On the outcrop, where it is not covered with moss, you can admire fossils or rare protected ferns growing in limestone cavities.

Hullo (Hully, Hurro, Hullaby, Hulu, ürikutes mainiti küla esmakordselt 1540) küla saare keskpunktis kujunes 20. sajandi algul Vormsi saare ja kohati lausa kogu Eesti rootslaste asustuse keskpunktiks. See oli ilusaim, puhtaim ja kuivem küla, mille elanikke peeti kõige rikkamateks. Kaunis mets ja liivaranna lähedus tegid ta sobivaks ka suvituskülana, kus on läbi aegade asunud kõik saare tähtsamad asutused, sh poed, koolid, vallavalitsus, raamatukogu, postkontor jms.

Maja asub Hullo keskuses vaikses metsatukas. Lähedal on Parunikivi, disgolfi rajad, seikluspark lastele, Vormsi Kaubamaja, külaplats külakiigega, kõrts Krog No. 14.

Kersleti (Kärrslätt, Kyrresleven, Kirchlätt, Kyrschlept) küla elanikud pidasid end Vormsi esimesteks asukateks. See on varasem kirikuküla, kus asus omal ajal saare suurim palvemaja. 18. sajandi teisel poolel on siin proovitud päikesesoojuse abil mereveest soola aurutada. Katse ebaõnnestus, aga seda meenutab kohanimi Doktor`s Krobba (rootsi k doktori nurk) merekäärus.

Norrby (Norbue, Norbwe, Nörby, esmakordselt mainitud 1540) ehk Põhjaküla oli koos Söderbyga kuni 1753. aastani Söderby mõisa valduses ning moodustas koos samanimelise külaga kaksikküla (Norrby-Söderby). Siin asusid kaks sihttuletorni (Norrby alumine ja ülemine majakas), millest ülemine oli enne I maailmasõda suurim Eestis. Need tuletornid määravad Eesti randade pikima liitsihi, mis ulatub Osmussaare ja Põõsaspea neeme vahelisest väinast Ramsi sihituledeni Voosi kurgus - pikkus ligi 11,5 miili. Esimese maailmasõja aegu ehitatud puitsõrestik-tornid asendati 1935. a silindriliste raudbetoontornidega. Tornid on valged, ülemine torn on 32 m ja alumine 24 m kõrge.

Rälby (Reuelbue, Räwall, Reuffel By) on osade seletuste kohaselt nime saanud Tallinnast (endise nimega Reval) ja sealt saabunud asukatelt, sest üks küla varasematest nimedest oli ka Rewalby.

Saxby (Saxben, Saxeby) on üks vanimaid külasid saarel. Russwurmi järgi on selle küla elanikud saabunud Soomest, kus Porvoo linna lähistel on Saxi-nimeline asula, kus aga Sax tähistab hoopis (saksa) kaupmehi.

To the north of lake Prästvike there is an exemplary combination of springs, water bodies connected to the springs, forest- and springfen habitats. Spring hiking trail was reconstructed so that nature lovers could get acquainted with this part of the unconventional nature of Vormsi.

Söderby (Suderbwe, Süderby, Sörby) ehk Lõunaküla oli kuni 1753. aastani samanimelise mõisa põhiküla. 20. sajandi algul prooviti seal soola toota.

Suuremõisa (Magnushof) on Vormsi ainus eestikeelse nimega küla, kus võib näha kunagise mõisa varemeid ja riismeid vanast pargist. Küla varasem rootsikeelne nimetus oli Bussby, kuid seoses mõisa ehitamisega külla nimetati see mõisa rajaja Magnus De La Gardie järgi Magnushofiks.

Suuremõisa manor was established on the island of Vormsi in 1604 and the first owner was Magnus Brümmer. That is why the Swedish name of the village is Magnushof. Since the 1620s the manor belonged to the noble family of de la Gardie, who at that time owned Haapsalu city. In 1691 the manor was expropriated and it became the proerty of Sweden. Since 1894 the manor belonged to the state and there was a sanatorium for young women. In 1920s and 1930s the main building of the manor was empty and it was demolished. Only a little hill of ruins with some parts of the wall have been preserved. Also most of the other buildings are destroyed or in ruins. The only extant building, although rebuild, is the distillery and part of a cattle barn. Also a big park has been remained.

Diby (Dödderby või Dudderby, aga ka nimekujud Duederbw, Dudder By) küla paikneb 7 hektari suuruse madaliku, Dibyträski ääres, mis maapinna kerkimise tulemusena on järveks muutunud. Seega on küla ilmselt oma nime saanud just tolle järve (Diby träs) järgi, mis on ka sookurgede rändeaegseks peatuspaigaks.

Förby (Voerbue, Föderby, Forby) tähendab tõlkes Eesküla. See oli rahvarohke küla, mille elanikud kasvatasid kartulit, mida müüsid Rootsi. Küla on arvatavasti nime saanud sarnaselt nagu Saxby – samanimelise (Förby) küla järgi Uusimaal Soomes.

Rumpo (Rump, Rompa By, Rumppabi) on asutatud Rumpo poolsaarele ehk Rumpo ninale. Sellest tulenevad ka tema eestindatud nimetused taga- ja sabaküla. “Rump“ tähendab rootsi keeles saba ja merre minev kitsas riba tõepoolest pisut meenutab seda. Rumpo elanikud elatusid peamiselt kalapüügist ning neid peeti Vormsi kõige kenamateks ja lahkemateks inimesteks.

Sviby See on olnud Vormsi üks suuremaid külasid, mis erineb teistest saare küladest suurema majadevahelise kauguse poolest. Küla on kaks korda üle elanud suure tulekahju (1825 ja 1932) ning seetõttu praegu ka tuleohutumalt üles ehitatud.
